Welcome To My First Edition Of Free Sample Friday!
There is absolutely nothing better than arriving home to something free in your mailbox. Whether it’s diapers, dog food or contact solution your can get free samples of pretty much anything. Not only is it a great way to save money it’s also a great way to try out something new before you buy it.
There are a lot of great ways to use free samples. One I really like is keeping a basket in our hall closet of every free sample that I get that would help me out when traveling. It may be toiletries, baby wipes… anything that I might normally pack. It makes the packing process go a lot faster and at least ONE bag a little lighter….. (That’s at least what I tell my husband as he is lugging out the other two 🙂 )
So you might be wondering… how do you get a free sample of an item you are want to try?
If you want to try out a free sample of something in particular the best way is to register for mailing lists of your favorite brands. All you need to do is simply visit their website and sign up for an account and they will send random emails when they are releasing new products or send you special coupons in the mail.
One word of warning, if you sign up for a lot of these you may want to set up a separate email account just for promotions because it can get annoying when you start to get a lot of emails. This way you can sign in when you have 15-20 minutes to spare.
One GREAT time to take advantage of this is if you are having a baby or have recently had a baby!!! You will be bombarded with a free sample of anything, amazing coupons in the mail and all sorts of goodies.
When my son was born he had a hard time with formula and it just so happened one of the formula companies had just released a new kind that worked for him. The only problem was it was much more expensive than the other brands. I was able to balance this because Enfamil, the formula I needed to use kept sending me at least one free ENTIRE container of formula at least once a month. It was crazy!
I had learned this little trick after I had my daughter so when I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd I decided to take to the internet and sign up for any mailing list I thought I could use. I signed up for diaper companies, formula, local baby stores and pregnancy websites. To maximize my savings I signed up for mailing lists at my house, my sister’s house and my Mom’s house. I thought I might get a free sample or two and some coupons. I had no idea it would lead to formula all the time!
Now I got a lot of things I like but I also got many samples that I didn’t use. Baby formula is a good example of that. That isn’t something you normally switch your child around on so if you get free containers it’s great to donate the sealed free sample to a local food bank or shelter. Another one that is great for donations are dog food. There are many no kill non-profit animal shelters and they can use any support they can get.
I put together a few free samples for you for this week and if you are interested in getting more one of the best ways is to spend maybe 15 mins this weekend signing up with some of your favorite companies whether it’s food, personal care products whatever it may be ….. it may just pay off!
