Finding The Right Coupon Binder System For You

There are several ways to organize your coupons but I have found the coupon binder system to be the most effective and least time consuming. There are a couple of ways to use a coupon binder system find out which one works best for you.

coupon binder systemThere are many ways you can organize your coupons. I have used several methods over the years and I highly recommend creating a coupon binder system. I have found that it is the most effective and realistic way to arrange your coupons if you don’t want to dedicate 20 hours a week to getting your coupons in order. There are a couple of ways to set up your coupon binder system though. I have used both and have been successful with both of them. I’m going to show you what you need to set them up and how to get started and then you can decide for yourself which method might be the best for you.

There are two different coupon binder systems that you can choose from.

Coupon Binder System #1 – Organize Your Coupon Inserts By Date- I consider this method to be the least time consuming of all of them! When you get your inserts each week all you do is simply have a sharpie handy and label your inserts with the date of the paper. You will use a three hole punch on them and simple file them into your binder.

When you site down to create your grocery list there are just a couple of extra steps you will want to add to take advantage of this coupon binder system. There are several coupon data bases online that allow you to simply type in the product you are searching for and the database will give you the date and name of the insert your coupon(s) are located in. You open your binder, turn to that date and insert and cut out your coupon! Simple as can be.

I have used this system for years and it has it’s advantages. No more sitting down on Sunday nights to cut all your coupons, no more digging for that coupon you know you have. It is really couponing simplified. It does have it’s disadvantages though. If you ever get to the store and see an item on clearance or maybe an item you forgot you needed and you know you have a coupon for it there is no easy way to locate that coupon. To decide which type of coupon binder system is best for you it really comes down to what kind of shopper you are.

It personally KILLS me when that happens. Target for example can have some great clearance rack deals. You usually will not know until you get there what you will find. Many times if you combine their clearance price and that coupon you have you can get that item for free or next to nothing. While it may be a good price I can’t bear to buy it when I know I have that coupon somewhere!! With the price of gas as it is it’s not really going to save you any money to come back to the store when you have your next batch of coupons arranged either!

So ask yourself really what situation do you find yourself in the most? Will you run into the great deal that you might miss every once in a while? Are you great with your list and it’s not often you remember you need something at the store? If it’s not that often it’s well worth using this coupon binder system because it doesn’t require much time at all. Like I said before I have used this coupon binder system for years but, a couple of months ago I started making a change. I was simply missing out on too many deals mostly because I am horrible at forgetting something until I see it! The choice is yours personally and I recommend that you spend some time deciding which coupon binder system is right for you before you jump in. Are you ready for the next one??

How do you decide which coupon binder system is right for you?

There are two different types of coupon binder systems we will go over today. They really come down to how are you going to arrange your coupons to find the ones that you need as fast as possible. After all you don’t want this process to be time consuming or you won’t use it! There are a couple of things I want you to consider before you get started. Are you a shopper who sticks strictly to a list? To save the maximum amount of money ideally you want to base your shopping list on your store’s sale ads. If you are someone who sits down and creates your list before you leave the house and never strays from that list then you will want to consider organizing your coupons inserts by date. (Don’t worry I’m going to show you

The first type of coupon binder system is The best way for you to decide which coupon binder system will work for you is to determined by how you usually shop. If you are someone who plans ahead and sticks strictly to a list then

Coupon Binder System #2 – Organize Your Coupons In Alphabetical Order- This is the coupon binder system that I am currently diving into. This is really as simple as what it says take all your coupons and put them in alphabetical order. You will use some different tools to make that as organized as possible. We will go over everything that you need to be successful with this method. You can really make this your own. Many couponers organize their coupons by brand name. Many take maybe a category and put that in alphabetical order. For example instead of organizing every brand name or razor or toothbrush they will file all their razor coupons under R.

There are some disadvantages to this coupon binder system that’s why it took me so long to switch over. It’s much more time consuming. You have to go back to the old school coupon clipping night :). To stay on top of things I find it’s best if you just cut your coupons the day you get them and then file them where it fits best for you. There are some real advantages to this system though. It’s much easier to use your binder on the go. If you find those deals on the Target clearance rack for example it can take 2 mins to find that coupon you know you have. This coupon binder system makes couponing on the go so simple! While it does take more time on the front end you can still plan ahead with your list and get all your coupons matched up with your sale ads before you leave the house, but if you think of something in the store or see a great deal you don’t want to miss you can grab it and make the most of it.

To decide which coupon binder system is right for you is a pretty tough decision. If you are very short on time I recommend you go with organizing your coupons by date. It will be worth missing out on a couple of good deals to be able to save the time of having everything handy to get together for your trip to the store. If your coupon binder system doesn’t work for you inevitably you will give up and that’s not going to save you ANY money! If you have a couple of hours a week to dedicate to your coupon binder system then I recommend you do them alphabetically. Then you can maximize your savings.

Now, each of these coupon binder systems require some different tools. You will want to use different types of binders depending on what method you do decide to use. Don’t worry I’m going to take you step by step through the step up process and make sure you have the best chance of success with the coupon binder system you choose.
